I have always seen these gorgeous houses on social media with these sconces in various places that look so great! About 6 months ago I decided to add a gallery wall in our living room and reallllly wanted a farmhouse light fixture above it, but didn’t want to pay an electrician to run wiring. Yall know I like to do projects on a budget!

I just happened to stumble upon a post written by Within The Grove that shared Nesting with Grace’s absolute magical light hack and it was the PERFECT solution to my problem!

So, what’s the trick??

You attach a battery powered puck light in the sconce. Boom. GENIUS, right?! It makes so much sense and is so easy/affordable/simple! And, it’s perfect for people like me who are always changing things around because it’s not permanent!

Here’s what you need:

Here’s what I did:

If you haven’t already decided, pick out the fixtures that you want. I decided on this from Amazon for just over $20!

Next, add a piece of the Velcro to the light bulb socket inside your fixture and the other piece of Velcro to the back of your puck light. Depending on what fixture and puck lights you get, you may have to trim your Velcro to lake it fit.

You can choose to get puck lights that don’t have a remote to save money, but that means you have to bring a chair over every time you want to turn it on (unless you’re crazy tall). But either work!

With installing your light fixture, every one will be different, so just follow the instructions they send you! Don’t be intimidated by that part though! I have zero light-fixture-hanging experience, and I did this entire project in about 15 minutes while 6 months pregnant!

This magic light hack literally saved us probably over $1,000 because I have done this in two different areas now. Adding these over our gallery wall and over some open shelves in our dining area has been the perfect farmhouse touch to our house!

Have you tried this?? I’d love to see how it turned out! Share your pictures below or tag me in your post! @AllisonAndersonHome
