Today I am praying for the mama that’s feeling overwhelmed entering this holiday season.
The mama that is feeling the pressure to decorate their house like the pictures all over social media, even though the extra clutter causes anxiety.
The mama that is feeling anxiety to make their kids Christmas magical and full of activities and crafts and baking and pictures…(not forgetting the extra work of Kindness Elves or Elf on a Shelf).
The mama who is trying to balance virtual learning, working, gift buying, gift wrapping, planning activities, attempting to stick to a budget, while continuing to breastfeed, potty train, sleep train, cook meals, grocery shop, discipline, and maintain some sort of routine.
Oh, and also find time for self-care and exercise.
The mama who is desperately trying to keep Christ in Christmas and teach their kids the true meaning of all of these things, while struggling herself to remember and be grateful.
The mama who is struggling with depression and feels guilty for maybe not enjoying the holidays as much as she feels like she “should”.
And also for the dads out there who are feeling some of these same things, plus the stress of maybe providing financially and the uncertainty of employment.
For the dads who are feeling sadness because of working long hours, missing activities and quality time with their families.
I pray for You to give them space to breathe, to give them strength and encouragement, and to help them let go of the feeling of chaos and embrace the little moments in the present.
Amen 💕
